About The Cumberland Township Police Department

The Cumberland Township Police Department is located in Northeastern Greene County, Pennsylvania. Our jurisdiction covers nearly 50 square miles (approximately 119 miles of roadway) and consists of several towns, including Carmichaels, Crucible, Nemacolin, Fairdale, Serbiantown, and portions of Rices Landing and Khedive. We serve a population of approximately 7,000 citizens who reside in the Township.

Also within our coverage area are Carmichaels Area Elementary, Junior, and Senior High schools, which house about 1200 students daily. We operate out of our Township Municipal Building located at 100 Municipal Road in Carmichaels.

The Cumberland Township Police Department is dedicated to serving and protecting the citizens of Cumberland Township. Currently, our Department employs six full-time Officers and six part-time officers. All officers have successfully completed training with the Municipal Police Officers and Education Commission (MPOETC), obtaining their Act 120 certifications. Officers respond to an average of 250-300 calls for service per month.

Our fleet of patrol vehicles consists of a Ford F-150 Truck, Ford Taurus Interceptor, 2 Ford Interceptor SUVs, and one Ford SUV for K9 Finn.

All officers in our department are Detectives with the Greene County Drug Task Force, which operates throughout the county conducting investigations regarding the distribution of illegal narcotics. To report suspected drug activity, please call (724) 627-5391. Callers can remain anonymous.
